Khalifa University (Arabic: جامعة خليفة) is a public research university located
in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It was ranked as the 181st best university
in the world by QS world university rankings of 2023.
Founded in 2007 by a decree issued by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al
Nahyan, Khalifa University was established in an effort to support a
knowledge-based economy that will contribute to the state's post-oil future.
In the 2022 Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings, Khalifa University
placed as the 37th best university in Asia.In September 2018, Khalifa University
was ranked 1st in the UAE and 2nd in the Arab region by the Times Higher
Education (THE) World University Rankings 2019.
In March 2023, Khalifa University’s Petroleum Engineering department was ranked
8th in the world by the 2023 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings
by Subject – Engineering and Technology.
