Welcome to SPIES 2025!

2025 7th International Conference on Smart Power & Internet Energy Systems will be held in Shanghai, China on October 17-20, 2025.

The International Conference on Smart Power & Internet Energy Systems is one of the principal events for power and energy experts from academia, industry, utilities, power and energy service providers, researchers and scientists across the globe to exchange ideas and experiences on emerging and enabling technologies. SPIES 2025 is Co-sponsored by Shanghai University Of Electric Power, China, IAS, PES and IEEE. And it is also technically supported by University of Vaasa, Macquarie University, Chiang Mai Unversity, Universite de Bretagne Occidentable, University of Nottingham and Auckland University of Technology. Electric power systems are currently undergoing fast and transformational changes. Distributed Generation, Nano-grids, Micro-grids with and without storage are now emerging as common features of today’s complex power system. With the blessing of modern computer, communication, and information technologies, the traditional power system is going to be connected with Smart-grid hub. This conference is a timely event to share your views on energy transformation and discuss these with power and energy leaders from Australia, Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa, including keynote and plenary speeches, tutorials, papers and poster presentation.

Considering the difficulty of domestic and international travel, SPIES 2025 will be convened in Hybrid model.

Publication

The accepted and presented papers of the 2025 7th International Conference on Smart Power & Internet Energy Systems (SPIES2025) will be published in conference proceedings to be archived into IEEE Xplore® Digital Library, indexed by Ei Compendex, Scopus, INSPEC, Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science, and others.

Some excellent papers will be recommended to IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications (Impact Factor 4.4). Invited authors need to submit an extended version of the conference paper.

Organizing Special Session

Interested people in organizing a Special Session should submit the special session proposal to the Special Session Chair on or before June 10, 2025.

Best Paper Award

This award recognizes three (3) best conference papers presented in the conference. The Conference Best Paper Award Chair will determine these papers with the help of session chairs and technical committee members.

SPIES 2024 had 4 Keynote Speeches, 2 Tutorials, 1 Panel Discussion, 10 technical sessions and 1 poster session with different topics.
The General Co-Chair, Prof. Mohamed El Moursi from Khalifa University, UAE host the conference. The General Chair, Prof. Ahmed Al-Durra from Khalifa University, UAE was invited to give an Opening Remark for the conference. Prof. Claudio Cañizares from University of Waterloo, Canada, Prof. Nikolaos Hatziargyriou from National Technical University of Athens, Greece, Prof. Akshay Kumar Rathore from Singapore Institue of Technology, Singapore and Prof. Xinghuo Yu from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia have shared Keynote Speeches with us. Prof. Muhammad Bakr Abdelghany from Khalifa University, UAE and Dr. Ryan Ahmed from McMaster University, Canada delivered tutorials at the conference. The General Co-Chair, Prof. Mohamed El Moursi from Khalifa University, UAE awarded certificates to all the keynote speakers, tutorial speakers, session chairs and best papers.
